Position Summary:  A Quality Control Technician works independently to provide quality control support for Phoenix Precision Machine responsible for adhering to current Good Manufacturing Practices for adherence to the applicable Code and ISO – 9001 standards. Ensures all documentation associated with each process has been documented and approved prior to release to the next step and are compliant with the current Fabrication Drawing, Notes, and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Weld inspection and Compliance to Fabrication Drawings and Standards
• Read and interpret Fabrication Drawings to ensure Compliance to Fabrication Drawings and Standards by performing Welding and Measurement inspection.
• Perform inspections across all stages of production.
• Perform Dye Penetrant Testing and Inspections
• Develop and Maintain inspection reports.
• Demonstrate the use of Inspection and Measuring Tools.
• Perform Final Checks and sign-off of Fabricated products.
• The ability to understand and ensure compliance to federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications.
• Maintain calibration of quality control equipment.
• Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly.
• Possesses demonstrated organizational skills while managing multiple activities under general direction.

Skills & Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of inspection and/or production experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to understand all stages of Fabrication.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret Fabrication Drawings.

Job Description:
Personnel in this position must be able to demonstrate competency as a Level 2 Valve Technician.  Above and beyond specific requirements of a Level 2 Valve Technician, the individual must be willing to help across other ISS division.  Follow all ISS, Customer and Industry safety standard and fill out both ISS and Customer JSA/JLA’s.

• Ensure all team members adhere to HSEQ protocols and safety regulations on job sites, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe work practices, and proper handling of tools and materials.
• Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments for each task, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
• Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote safety awareness and maintain a zero-incident culture.
• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with quality control procedures, meeting the company's standards and client expectations.

Required Capabilities (describe scope of knowledge and ability of the position):
Detailed Knowledge of how the mechanical operation and design of Manual Valves such as Gate, Globe, Ball, and Check Valves
A good working knowledge ANSI and API pressure/temperature/materials/leak rates
Be able to test valves to API 598 standards and document results
Trouble Shooting of Gate, Globe, Butterfly, Check, Ball and TOV Valves
Repacking Rising stem and Quarter Turn Valves
Repacking of injectable packing valves and control valves
Replacement of packing studs
Repair, design and replace drive assemblies rising stem and quarter turn valves including gearboxes
Maintenance/PM of Trunion Ball valves and lubricated plug valves
General repairs of gate, globe and check valves (non-pressure seal}
Hands on Training and Evaluation of New Valve Technicians and Level 1 on SSOP’s, ISS Safety Standards and Documentation
Good Communication skill with Customers, ISS Operations and Sales
